This is the club section with information on Anime Clubs

- Whats needed to make an anime club..
  • A name for the club.
  • Access to an entertainment system aka tv and dvd player or ps2.
  • Someone willing to host the club (to advertise, welcome, and buy anime and food)
  • A fairly good amount of anime - it's best to keep a good flow of new and old anime.
  • A plan of what will happen at meetings.
  • A chosen day/s suitable for everyone (Most do meetings on Sunday)
  • A form of Advertisement (Leaflets, Posters, newsletters, websites/forums, local community pinboards)
  • A group of atleast 5 anime enthusiasts.
  • Trips to cons and far away anime shops for people who want to try different shops but couldn't get the transport alone.
  • Competitions to keep people interested.
  • A small annual entrance fee to support the club.
  • Member stats to see if you'll need a bigger place or more supplies.
  • A badge or membership card so people can pay for a longer period of time and to help remember peoples names.
  • Rules.

    - Advantages of Clubs
  • You can see anime without buying it.
  • Some clubs offer a discount at shops.
  • You can discuss anime that others haven't seen and vice versa.
  • An easy way to make new friends.
  • Better than watching it alone.
  • Introduces new anime for you to buy.
  • Freebies.
  • Cheaper than anime conventions.
  • You can borrow the anime for free rather than from the normal video/dvd rentals.
  • Playing the games together with others is fun.
  • Find out about more anime shops in your area.

    - Attracting fans
  • Put up a notice on your site about the club.
  • Advertise in your local comic/anime store.
  • Advertise in interest magazines and local newspapers.
  • Tell your friends to tell their friends.
  • Post on local online forums.
  • Put a notice up at your community center.
  • Wear a T-shirt with an eye-catching logo and your clubs info on it.
  • Speak to people you see browsing anime in shops.

    - Ideas for people introducing newbies to Anime
  • Introduce them to all types of anime (mecha, adventure, magical girls, samurai, fan service and adventure.
  • Explain the different forms they come in (Graphic Novels, Comics, Vhs, Dvd, Vcd, Ovas, Tv series and movies.
  • Show them old and new anime such as Chobits and Sailormoon or Hellsign and Akira. I recommend Ghost in the shell and Sailormoon, they prove cartoons and Anime are different.
